Following is a list of the Tournaments to be held this year in Thamesford. If you want to enter any of these tournaments you must contact Laurel Martin 268-0160 or Marion Payne 285-3731.

Sat May 31st    - Thamesford District #3 - Ladies Fours Play-downs

Wed June 25th  - Mens Pairs    (McFarlan Rowlands Ins.) noon meal

Wed July 2nd    - Ladies Pairs - Luncheon (Royal Bank)

Sat July 12       - Mixed Pairs -  Dick Grass Memorial Noon Meal

Thurs Aug 7th   - Mixed Pairs -  (Betzner Funeral Home) Dinner @ noon

Sat Aug 30th    - Mixed Pairs -  (Oxford Mutual) Noon Meal

As you can see our tournaments are sponsored by local businesses, to whom we are most grateful. All are welcome to come & watch, there are usually a number of Ontario and Canadian Champions on the greens so you will see some very good bowling. See you on the greens - Tony Webb.

THAMESFORD LAWN BOWLING CLUB - July/08

We had a very successful ‘Come & Try Lawn Bowling’ during June & have signed up 3 new members Gerry Lindsay, Karan Coates & Henry Houlton. These new members are coming out on a regular basis & having fun.

There was a Fun Night to end our ‘Try Lawn Bowling’ Monday evenings that was attended by about 25 people, all had lots of fun. We had 2 very successful tournaments during July with full greens for both.

The Royal Bank sponsored tournament on 2 July (Ladies Pairs) that was won by Shirley Hague & her partner from the Woodstock Bowling Club. The Dick Grass Memorial Tournament on 12 July (Mixed Pairs) sponsored by the Grass family, who where there to open the tournament, was won by Dave Gray and partner Cathy Townsend from London Fairmont Club. Our own Lorne Matheson & Laurel Martin came in a very close second. Congratulations to all the winners and to all the other entries, don’t give up try again next year.

The JC Graphics sponsored Thurs evening league is under way and is being very well attended; all who come out have a good time with lots of laughs.

We have 2 tournaments scheduled in Aug & are currently soliciting entries to fill these. Our junior member Gabe entered his first Junior Tournament at the Fairmount Club, he won one game but lost 2 against older & more experienced bowlers, he came away undiscouraged talking about entering next year, keep it up Gabe.
