1st THAMESFORD SCOUTING News

1ST THAMESFORD SCOUTING
Beavers built & painted their Beaver Buggies; had a fun time racing them with Kintore. Their winter sleepover was a lot of fun. Last week, they picked up sticks in North Park, as a clean-up activity.
May 17 will probably be their last meeting before the summer.
The Thamesford Cubs raced at our Mindaamin Area KubKar Races. They did a great job. Josh Verhallen won 1st Place; Tyler Koot won 2nd Place as well as Best Design; & Cameron Jagoe won 3rd Place.
Thamesford Cubs also were recognized for Best-In-Show. Congratulations!
These 3 Cubs plus Jeffrey Kerr went to the Chatham Races representing Mindaamin Area.
As mentioned last month, Leaders are needed for Beavers (ages 5,6,7) & Cubs (ages 8,9,10).
Contact a Scouting member if you are interested.
THAMESFORD LEGION News

THAMESFORD LEGION
We are all looking forward to the Cali weekend coming up this month & hope the weather is warm & dry. There will be karaoke on Fri night with Ken, & a dance upstairs on Sat night. The bluegrass will be on Thursday night as usual so try to stop by.
The euchres will carry on until the end of June as will the karaoke’s.
We lost a life member at the legion with the passing of Ruth Turner. The Turner family was very active in the legion years ago, & did a lot for our community.
There are still some legion cards the have not been picked up, & some dues that have not been paid. I would like to get all the
memberships caught up by the end of May. The jam that was held on April the 10th was a huge success, & I would like to thank everyone that worked so hard to make this event possible. In closing I would like to say thanks to everyone who has helped & supported the legion over the winter months.
Gary G Pounds, President Branch 557
