Thamesford is located on the western boundary of Oxford county, half way between London and Woodstock on highway 2 (county road 68) and between St. Marys and Ingersoll on highway 19.
There are a number of exits off the 401 that will bring you to the caring community of Thamesford.
If coming from Woodstock, Hamilton, Kitchener, Toronto, Buffalo you can take exit #216. Go straight through the intersection (lights) onto Ingersoll Road. Stay on the Ingersoll road (north) past the Cami plant, over the bridge and up the hill until you come to a 'T' intersection. This is hwy #119 - turn left (west) and follow it for 6 km to beautiful Thamesford.
If coming from London, Chatham, Windsor, Detroit, Sarnia take exit  #203. Turn left (north) onto Elgin road. Stay on Elgin Road - through the stop lights at Hamilton road (county road 29), over the tracks, through some rolling hills to the stop lights at highway #2 (the John Deere dealership will be on your left). Turn right (east) at these lights and you will arrive in lovely Thamesford within 3 km.

Thamesford Lions – bottle drive – Nov 1    The bottle collection for November will be on Saturday the 1st at Macs Milk between 10am and 2pm. Bring your empties and donate the deposit to the Thamesford Lions community activities.
Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society FISH FRY – Nov 1
It's an All You Can Eat Perch Fish Fry put on by the Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society. Nov 1st, at the Embro Community Centre. Food is served from 6pm-8:30pm. The band Movin', Grovin' & Verhoeven comes on at 9pm and the dance continues until 1am. Advanced Tickets are required Adults: $25, Kids 6-12: $10, 5 & under: FREE.
Tickets are available at McKay's Food Market in Embro, from any Embro fairboard director or by calling Natalie 519-949-4978. Dance only tickets can be purchased at the door after 9pm for $5 (age of majority is required after 9pm).
Purple Hill Country Opry – Nov 2
First Sunday of each month; showtime 2pm. Cost: $40 per person includes full beef dinner & parking is free. Nov 2nd marks the annual Patriotic Show that has become a tradition at Purple Hill. Stand Up & Be Proud is the theme in this month when Canadians pause to remember & honour the nation’s war dead in all our wars including the First World War that started in August 100 years ago & ended Nov 11, 1918.     You're Invited! The Thamesford Lawn bowling Club are changing the Carpet Bowling at the Arena from 
Tuesday mornings from 10 - 12  to Wednesday mornings 10 - 12. Starting 5 November.
